Maxville Manor was established in 1968 and the building was redeveloped in 1994. It is located in the historic and scenic Village of Maxville, a quiet community of 900, and situated at 80 Mechanic Street West in Glengarry County, Ontario. It is owned by a charitable Corporation whose membership is made up of community groups in and around the Village of Maxville. The Board of Directors is composed of representatives from each of these groups.
The organization provides services in four key areas:
- Long Term Care Facility
- Community Outreach Services
- Seniors Centre
- Seniors' Life-Lease Apartments
The Manor provices long-term care and also has 2 respite (short stay) beds; it provides the highest quality care in a warm and friendly environment.
A number of services, including a cornerstore, beauty salon/barber shop, chapel, on-site laundry and library, are available at the Manor. The staff includes a Medical Director and registered nursing staff.
A large outdoor terrace with direct access from the front entrance includes a number of benches, trellis, shade trees, shrubs, flowers, & a circular pathway making this patio easily accessible to all. A new barbecue is in place to provide grilled fare to Residents and visitors.

The Long Term Care Facility
Maxville Manor provides a facilitative, enriched environment to 120 seniors requiring long term or respite care. The Residents benefit from the coordinated services of an interdisciplinary team including physicians, nurses, personal care providers and other relevant disciplines.
Outreach Services
The Manor provides a number of Outreach Services to seniors and people with special needs living in their own homes or apartments in Glengarry County or East Stormont. Assisted by a large corp of volunteers, the Outreach Services programs enhance quality of life, self-esteem and promote independence for seniors in the community. These programs include an Adult Day Program, Meals on Wheels, security checks, transportation services, health, social and recreational programs. The Manor also offers a Respite Program, accommo-dating persons within the Long Term Care Facility.
Seniors’ Centre
The Manor also operates a separate Seniors Centre within its premises. The Centre serves as a meeting place for local Seniors, and a place where programs concerning a variety of topics (such as nutrition, recreation and medical care) can be delivered in a familiar and comfortable environment.
Recreation
Enriched through a wide variety of thoughtfully planned activities, the residents can choose from a calendar of events in keeping with their needs, interests and lifestyles. Opportunities include social, intellectual, emotional, physical and spiritual programs.
Volunteers
Hundreds of volunteers, of all ages, provide invaluable help to the Manor community and donate almost 20,000 hours of their time each year to interact on an individual or group basis with our resisidents and outreach clients.
The Manor Food Service Department
The fully equipped modern kitchen is run by the Manager of Dietary Services. Special dietary needs are developed by our Dietician and are closely monitored by the Medical Director and Nursing staff. We are committed to the provision of high quality food and nutritional services. Meal service is personalized in comfortable, well-appointed dining rooms. Special function catering is available for residents, family and the community.
Glen Garden Village
The Manor also operates a separate apartment development directly adjacent to the Manor itself. These residential units are available on a "life lease" basis and are meant for the independent Senior looking for a secure and care free living environment. These modern apartment units continue to be home for independent Seniors.
