Senior Outreach Services - Coming Events

NOVEMBER birthstone 'topaz'. 

November DINERS CLUB is scheduled for THURSDAY, November 24th. 
Dinner at 5 pm.  followed by entertainment at 7 pm.  It will be a St. Andrews theme.  Plan on attending an evening of good food, fun and fellowship.  
Cost is $12.00 per person

Registered Nurse available:     Blood pressure, weight, glucose and cholesterol checks, medication review and general information about service and health related subjects.  Next clinic is scheduled for November 2nd ... 11 am to 2 pm.

TRANSPORTATION
Maxville Outreach Services offers transportation for medical appointments and personal errands to Maxville and area Residents.  Fee is based on mileage.

ADULT DAY PROGRAM
 
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday
 - 9:30 am to 3:00 pm
 - snacks and meals
 - physical, social, educational, mental and spiritual programs,      Outings and entertainment also provided.
 - transportation provided by volunteer drivers and/or Manor Van
Cost:  ALL for $17. per day.
     Referral accepted from family, self, doctor, community partner or CCACEC.

MENS' COFFEE CLUB - Wednesday 10-11 a.m.

LADIES SOCIAL TEA - Every 2nd Monday 10-11 a.m.  

SHOPPING / GROCERY VAN trips are scheduled every 2 weeks and accepts passengers to destinations such as Cornwall, Orleans and Alexandria destinations.  The van can accept up to 7 passengers.  Charge is a minimum of $7.50 / passenger.

BOWLING CLUB -  Maxville Rollers are warming up the lanes at the St. Isidore Bowling Lanes on Tuesday mornings beginning at 9 am.  If you are interested in bowling as a regular or spare,

FOOT CARE SERVICES

MEALS ON WHEELS
- provided Monday through Friday to clients in the surrounding communities for a small fee of $4.50; extra meals and special dietary needs are considered.  Meals are delivered at noon by dedicated volunteers.

SHOPPING BUS / VAN  is scheduled every 2 - 3 weeks on Mondays or Thursdays ..... Departure is either at 9 am or 12 noon.  Destinations may include: Cornwall, Alexandria, Casselman, Hawkesbury.

The next scheduled trip is: Wednesday, November 16th at 10 am and will return by 2PM.

Volunteer Services
Intergenerational Program continues October through June.  Elementary  students from Maxville Public School and community youth are invited to make application and meet new senior friends at the Manor.  Students have started visiting their senior friends as of November 4th.

Adult Volunteers are recruited for numerous tasks based on volunteers skills and abilitiy, availability and needs of the organization.

Volunteer Needs

a)   Drivers .... local and long distant destinations 
b)   Music program volunteers (musicians and leader singing)
c)  Helpers with games eg. Keno and bingo
