  • Lions donate over $100,000 to Manor

Local Lions Clubs have been fundraising to support the Maxville Manor redevelopment. Together, the groups from Vankleek Hill, Finch, Alexandria and Maxville joined Lions Club International to contribute $105,000 for the Manor, funds which will be used to purchase equipment for the kitchen in the new long-term care facility.

Phyllis Burtenshaw-Lalonde, acting Chief Executive Officer for the Maxville Manor, told the Lions Clubs members in attendance how appreciative the Manor was for the donation. She acknowledged that fundraising is not easy and on behalf of everyone at the Manor, she thanked them for their time, their laughter and their support of the redevelopment project.

    Join us on our journey

On May 30, 2025, Maxville Manor was officially granted approval from the Ministry to proceed with our $69 million redevelopment project. This transformative initiative will expand our capacity from 122 to 160 long-term care beds, marking a significant step forward in meeting the growing needs of our community.

The new Manor will be designed with a neighbourhood-style layout, featuring distinct areas for 32 residents each to foster a sense of community and familiarity. Enhancements will include expanded parking, upgraded HVAC and air filtration systems, and a warm, home-like environment. We are especially pleased to share that our beloved Town Square skylight—a hallmark of Maxville Manor—will remain a central feature in the redesigned space.

We are excited to embark on this journey, building not only for the comfort and well-being of our current residents but also for future generations who will call Maxville Manor home.
